shahrzad_g 0 Posted February 11, 2009 i like that you see something in the ordinary. my humble suggestions are to use a more interesting perspective (from above or below) or cropping (zoom in or out, off center) to take this from ho-hum to interesting. that's just my opinion though :) Link to comment
wingell 0 Posted February 11, 2009 Ms. Shahrzad--Thanks for stopping by and offering your views on "Catching up." I shot this image as an "environmental portrait." Zooming closer or cropping tighter would have eliminated much of the background scene, which I viewed as an essential component of this shot. In fact, I did debate cropping from the left and decided against it because I wanted that figure in the left background left largely intact. I also wanted a good overall view of the table clutter and the newspaper. Shooting from above or below would have made that view and the desired background perspective problematic. For me, the subject's engrossed demeanor and the vibrant color of her jacket made this a shot worth taking. For others, obviously, it may well be just another "ho-hum" photograph. All the best...Bill Link to comment
