dgv 1 Posted February 10, 2009 Unique angle, Tim, the undulation of the shadow given by the curves in the snow give movement to the picture. The footsteps too. IMO it would have been absolutely perfect without the two poles and their shadows. Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted February 10, 2009 I was thinking that exact same thing when I happened upon this scene. I guess all we can do is make the best from what we are given, Thanks! Link to comment
szgd 0 Posted February 10, 2009 It has a good composition specially shadows are so influential. Congratulation Tim Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted February 11, 2009 I love how the shadow ripples across the snow, enlivening a cold and empty scene. Link to comment

dacamera 0 Posted February 13, 2009 I agree with the ohers about the beautiful shadow on the snow. I can see both good and bad in the post. The shadow cutting through the bench shadow is great but I am not so sure about the partial piece of it at the top of rhe frame. Having said that I can't see the alternative and I am starting to like it more the longer I look. It's a good interesting shot. Simon Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted February 14, 2009 with or without the poles I think you did an outstanding job in framing this. Your composition is as good as the quality of the shadow and the texture of the bench. What spoils it for me big time is that snow because frankly it looks muddied. I have no idea what you did here but it must be something. Looking at the upper right it's unevenly as well and that's not just the light doing that. For a simple toning it's too unevenly spread anyway. You've got me curious. Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted February 15, 2009 Once again, the subject of the snow comes up. I'm not sure if what I'm seeing, and what you're seeing through the monitors is different or what. Although I do not like to go "bright white" with my snow (just a personal taste) I'm curious about your observations. I wish we could compare some kind of monitor gray/white samples with each other. What gave me a challenge with this shot was the variety of footsteps around the bench. Because of the angle of light, they became very contrasty and drew too much attention IMO. I did some dodging and burning to tone them down a bit and maybe that's too obvious? Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 3 Posted September 26, 2009 I love the curvy shadows and footprints, also the sparkles in the snow. I love the angle at which you took this shot. Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :) Link to comment
