stp 6 Posted February 9, 2009 Wrong planet -- this must be Titan, one of Saturn's moons. It looks really, really cold. Your composition is great, with the right to left receding landscape matching the direction of the light and sky. Link to comment
Art X Photography 1 Posted February 9, 2009 nice perspective and tones. It DOES remind me of an alien planet 6/6 Link to comment
colingrace 0 Posted February 9, 2009 ....in all respects. Can't believe you went out in weather like this. There again I can, as I did on Saturday as well. What a spectacular image. Certainly alien looking, even without the Space 1999 description. You've captured both the landscape and the weather to perfection. Glad to see you made it back home safely as well. Which Tor was this exactly. As in most of your images of Dartmoor (which I presume this is), I find myself trying to guess the location. Take care out there David. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted February 10, 2009 Hi,David! Roger. This is a spectacular rendition. Composition, tone and play light & shade are superb. But you got to know International Radio-Telephony :-) OVER. Link to comment
davidclapp 0 Posted February 10, 2009 No its not overexposed but right on the limit. Its where the sun was, so I wanted to render it with that intensity. A polariser straight into the sun would be useless, no NDs either, its an exposure blend of two images 3stops apart. Haytor Rocks would be a black blob if I had used a pointless ND plastic drinks coaster or whatever it is they are for...(!) Link to comment

davidspeight 0 Posted December 13, 2009 David, i forgot to mention this shot the other week. I have been having a look at it in the t.a.v book and the highlights are superbly handled, as is the composition. All that powdered snow blowing about and obviously your very natural method of processing makes it for me. Dave. Link to comment
