Hi Mark...up close shots of herbivores are difficult (I exclude deer fawns), cause the main part of this kind of photos (obviously the eyes!) are not as beautiful by nature in order to attract the viewer's attention. Shooting extremely close ups of predatory big cats is a totally different story. Their look is eye-piercing, thus suitable for this style of photography...so in summary when you shoot zebras avoid extreme close-ups and seek behaviour shots...zebras by character will inevitably do something funny or interesting to shoot...guaranteed!
