I had rated this with a 6/6 anon but had not commented. I love the back light - I may have lightened the whole image just a bit. Ratings are often incomprehensible and I see a couple of really low ones which is undeserved. best regards,

PS I have made some adjustments for your consideration (I work with Nik Capture but PS equivalents are Shadow/highlight and selective contrast with adjustment layers)

Note that shadow/highlight is only available in Photoshop CS series and if you are not familiar with it just google "photoshop shadow/highlight free tutorial"

This is a wonderful example of the forces of nature..and the beauty revealed....light on ice.....these formations look like they started to melt after our thaw. It's been ages since I've walked along the lake in the winter. It can be very beautiful...you've obviously captured one of those 'magical ice formations' that are so amazing.

Tony's adjustments are good....brings in a little more light....and actually the Shadows/Highlight adjustment is also available in Elements 7 and 8....just in case you were not already aware of it......congrats..great shot!

Thanks for taking such an interest in this image. The formations were just fantastic that day. I really like the idea of lightening the image, I think it will bring out more of the glow that was present with the sun in that position. Thanks for the effort Tony.

I use CS4, by the way so I'm familiar with the tools, I'll be playing with this image today. If you were to look at my favourites choice, you will probably see why, to me, the image that I posted looked fairly light to me. But lighter I think would be better in this case.
