2009 marks the 400th anniversary of Galileo's first telescopic observations of the cosmos. This photo was taken the 10th of January of 2009. That day the moon was seen greater than ever. Thanks for your comments!

La luna se puede tomar a cucharadas

o como una cápsula cada dos horas.

Es buena como hipnótico y sedante

y también alivia

Un pedazo de luna en el bolsillo

es mejor amuleto que la pata de conejo:

sirve para encontrar a quien se ama,

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments.

 

Kaushik, I only used a camera (DSC-H2) and a tripod. For the second photograph added, I used a little camera and an old Bushnell Televar made for the Retina Reflex. It works as a little telescope.

I never knew how difficult a shot like this could be until I tried it myself. I have appreciation for your tallent. The crisp details are fabulous. Well done

Beautiful astronomical shot and nicely done!

 

Many times I wait for moon to shape like this,but unfortunately I could not success.

Oops! Hope I didn't insult you, my Mexican friend. I prefer your crescent moon because the shadows give more detail on the craters. Anyway, I would love to make such beauties as these two!
