johnroberts 0 Posted January 30, 2009 A good angle of view to create an excellent of perspective of the shoreline sweeping across the frame. Works really well in mono to show the effect of the elements. Lovely composed image. Regards John Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted January 30, 2009 I really like the composition and the wind can be "seen" in the foreground grasses. I can feel that initial wind gust that leads an approaching storm. Nice job! Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted January 31, 2009 Thank you, John and Tim! This storm came up fast. I was very lucky to have time before it hit to run down to the beach to take a series of shots. Best regards, Dick Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 1, 2009 Richard, the storm is felt in every aspect of the composition. The strong wind on the tree and grass, the dark omious sky. Very well composed the atmospher and light in this harsh weather. It looks a desolated place with only the lone tree.( and you the photographer...;-)) very well observed and executed. Link to comment

jbm 0 Posted May 30, 2009 You are really becoming quite a photog, Dr. A...it's always a pleasure to come back to your photos and see how good they have become. Have you ever tried scaling these bad boys up with a scaling program (e.g. Genuine Fractals, etc)? These would make really strong prints at the 16x20-ish size. I hope you are doing well. I am in the Bahamas for a wedding, signing overdue charts from my laptop! We all have to pay the piper... Cheers, Jay Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted May 30, 2009 Thanks, Jay! Good to hear from you. Bahamas, huh? That sounds tough:-) I haven't used any plug-ins for Aperture for post processing. I was interested in DXO OpticsPro 5 for lens corrections but I couldn't get the trial version to work on my iMac. I'm happy with the monochrome converter in Aperture and I'm getting better using it. I'm sure as time goes on I'll try some other programs. Have a great time in the sun! Dick Link to comment
