Fantastic shot Tim, that's some really interesting ice formations clinging to the rocks. Oh, and global warming actually mean it gets colder in the winter... kinda strange that it'd be so contrary to the name. The more I look at this, the more I think you could even crop a 1/4 of the top and still have a great photo.

Thanks for the comments! I probably should have cropped the guy out in the upper left corner but I know him and thought I should leave him in because of the cold.

i like the way the ice looks so muddy, it makes the rocks look like sunken ice. i think just the outcrop of snow and ice in the background could have made a nice photo on its own too, with a tall narrow crop.

Simon, I may try that with some of the other shots I have of this tableaux.

very interesting ice formations. i find the rocks just below the surface equally intriguing. the guy top left doesn't bother me a bit. in fact, i think that fleck of red hat emphasizes the overall neutrality of the scene in contrast.
