Beautiful portraiture....

Very nice....great DOF, hilights on Gypsy's eyelashes....love horses...nice shot.

Hi.. i feel blaring comments of praise don't help anyone learn so let me get this out of the way first...it is a very nice shot. But what id like to see which would make it a fantastic shot....

The shot looks a little washed, it could maybe come from the amount of sunlight on the lashes...or just from being a touch over exposed.

Also what is reflecting in the horses eye? Is it intentionally in the shot? Since I cant tell what it is it makes it a little distracting. I KNOW that animals don't do what you want them to when shooting, but if it was possible to get him to turn his head slightly so as you would not get that reflection and you could see more clearly the coloration and texture of the eye that would be 10/10.

But those 2 hyper-critical critiques aside... I love the attempt...eye photography is something i really do love.

Thanks so much for your critique.....amazing that the reflection in the eye is something that you just made me aware of.....i have no idea what this is to tell you the truth...

 

i took this with my macro lens...and it was very bright out..., i will take your advise to heart......thanks again......when i look at this image i only see the white eyelashes for some reason...that's were my eyes go...

 

i really appreciate your input and will try again with your advice.....
