Also, please excuse my critique, I am just trying to provide useful feedback (hopefully!). I think of photography in terms of two aspects: technical achievement and creativity. After looking at your portrait, I would say your technical skills are very good (I also enjoy taking portraits and hope to get there in the near future). I like the depth of field, the composition, the skin & make-up colors and the hair detail (left-side of picture). Although, even though, it is obvious that your model feels comfortable with you, I do not like her smile --it is unnatural, it looks like you said: say "cheese" before taking the photo. I think it is very challenging to get the most natural expressions out of a subject. Although, they can be the most rewarding. It would be nice to see the rest of your work. To see if there are any patterns. Overall, good job. I believe you are going in the right direction.
