lesliejbng 0 Posted January 25, 2009 Great shot! Really interesting old barn and you captured it well. I love old weathered barns. Well done, Leslie Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted January 25, 2009 Thanks, Leslie! This old barn was predicted to collapse long ago. I'm happy that it's still standing:-) Regards, Dick Link to comment
kathyb 34 Posted January 27, 2009 I like the two winter farm shots but this one's my favorite. The barn looks more saturated and overall I think the contrast is a little better here. NIce work! Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted January 28, 2009 Thank you again, Kathy! The snow is a challenge, for me, the camera and the post processing. I want the snow to look like snow, color, texture, shadows and all. Shooting in RAW helps to get it right, but it is a balancing act. Have a good night! Dick Link to comment
kathyb 34 Posted January 30, 2009 My camera has the capacity to shoot in both raw and jpeg-even simultaneously. Would you believe that it's been one year since I bought my digital SLR and have never shot in raw? Oh the challenges that 2009 shall bring. :O) Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted January 30, 2009 Kathy, you have an outstanding camera and if you don't have the RAW converter in PS for your camera you can download it from Adobe. In general you will have -2.0 to +2.0 ability to adjust exposure AFTER you upload your shots to the computer. And, you can also adjust white balance and a host of other settings that are either difficult or impossible in JPEG because in JPEG your camera processes the image for you and fixes the settings before you have a chance to adjust them. Have fun! Dick Link to comment
kathyb 34 Posted January 30, 2009 I went to Adobe's website. Is this what I download? (Adobe DNG Converter and Camera Raw 4.6 update). My Pentax K10D came with a raw converter. I also got free Adobe elements when I bought my Epson scanner. I will check and see if it has raw conversion. I don't know much about raw except that it takes up more space on the memory card. I may need to get larger storage capacity. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted January 31, 2009 Kathy, Adobe Camera RAW 5.2 supports RAW conversion for your camera and should work fine. I'd have to check their site for previous versions. Try it out...you will have fun! Best regards, Dick Link to comment
kathyb 34 Posted February 1, 2009 Richard, I dowloaded Adobe Camera Raw 5.2 to my Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. I'm good to go!!!!!!! I'll check with Adobe to see if they have one for my other program (Photoshop 7.0. Thanks a BUNCH! Link to comment
