juke 0 Posted January 23, 2009 The Church and cannon at Suomenlinna seafortress island.1/6/2009 Helsinki FinlandI wen't to the Suomenlinna island to looking for some brand new ice.But there was none. The breezing wind kept waves high. The wind was so hard that photographing was real pain. Fingersfroze immediately and my dark cloth was floating in the airflow.Actually wind took some of my equipments and throw them couple of meters!Luckily I found this view. So trip was not futile. lonebearimages 0 Posted January 23, 2009 Thanks for sharing the great story behind this photograph! This is an outstanding composition, and the black and white conversion really conveys the feeling of the cold stormy day. Beautifully seen, captured, and processed. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
petrilabogdanvasile 0 Posted January 23, 2009 A beautiful compozition, the Church and the gun. The peace and the war. In winter it is a better contrast. A beautiful photo. Link to comment
tomasz_wojciechowski 0 Posted January 23, 2009 very nice composition, which i would have loved to see in a more dramati light. after all it's a BW shot. i guess you should consider more contrasty, punchy outcome.regards Link to comment
davidmeiner 3 Posted January 26, 2009 Jukka, just as a previous photographer commented, I also thought about the contrasts here between the church and the weapon of war. And the whiteness of the church against the darkness of the cannon. Maybe also the white snow as compared to the dark clouds. Interesting and thought-provoking photo. Link to comment
