Obviously I'm cruising through your beautiful portfolio. The thumbnail of this one really caught my eye, so I stopped for a longer look. I really like t his shot. It has so many unanswered questions.. was the ediface completed, then later fell into ruin or destroyed by fire or war, or was it never completed, a monument to lost dreams? I like the textures and earth tones. There is a very lonely feeling to this photo. I am wondering if you added a little more contrast (curves) and toyed with the mid-tone contrast in levels if you couldn't get more depth and more feeling to the photo. The lighting and perspective feel flat, so the photo feels a little flat. I suspect that may be part of the reason it didn't get many ratings, and those that it got were fairly low. This certainly deserves a "6" for creativity, and the aesthetics IMHHO (in my humble honest opinion) deserve more than a 4. It is well composed, good detail, good exposure - just needs a little "zip" I think.

Sandra, Thanks for the comment on this window. You are quite astute. You also have a great imagination and vision - necessary talents of a successful photographer as we must have the vision of what we want to capture and simultaneously see as the camera sees. The building is the remains of a historic General Mills grain elevator that burned in an accidental fire around 1991. The remains of the building is now called the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis. Yes, the shot is flat; it's a mid day photo taken without any special planning or effort while I was there with family.

I did beef up the contrast with a curve and whatever else - don't really recall. Thanks for your comment.
