david_watson11 0 Posted January 23, 2009 I love the tone in it. It is not black and white yet looks it. Love the trees against the sky and the shadows on the snow.. The trees lead us across the image. Well done Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted January 23, 2009 Tim, good morning! This is very nice! Great choice of composition, I really like the way the shadows fold down over the snowbank/ridge and feather out toward you. I also like the sunlight sparkling in the snow and I think you have really balanced out the clouds, sun and lighting well in your processing. Have a good day! Dick Link to comment
dandem 1 Posted January 28, 2009 Great angle, Tim. The shadown coming in toward you are very strong. Great winter scene. Regards, Lawrence. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 28, 2009 I kind of like comparing this one to "Even Shadows Like to Play in the Snow." Whereas that one has a graphic sense to me, the intermingling branches and shadows, the strong sense of design achieved with limbs and shadows, the texture. Interestingly, this has some similar elements, though more sparsely present and more subdued in their rendering, and affects me much more inwardly and emotionally. I can feel this one. Part of it are the subtleties I mentioned and some is the perspective, feeling at the lower side of an incline, hovered over by the trees. You captured a mood here . . . nicely. Link to comment

johnroberts 0 Posted February 4, 2009 A very understated image wwith the trees creating a superb silhouette against the sky and the subdued f/g with tree shadows and the strands of grass appearing above the snow. Excellent work. Regards John Link to comment
