michaellinder 16,611 Posted January 22, 2009 Another outstanding marriage between human subject and veil . . . The subject's face could be expressing awe regarding what is being perceived behind the mask. Or, it could just be sheer (pardon the pun) joy. Very well seen and effectively composed. As in the other photographs of this genre, the veil very expressively captures the subject's movements. Yashir Koach! michael Link to comment
tmcleland 0 Posted January 22, 2009 Impressive photo. Once again, you've got that amazing balance between movement and clarity. I get the sense from this (and others of yours) that you've combined a "set up" shot with spontaneity. For others, viewing: She's right! Please view larger! Stunning! Link to comment
rogerleekam 0 Posted January 22, 2009 Pnina, one of my favourites! The texture of the veil is stunning and you have caught this at the perfect moment. I love her expression and pose, and the lighting is also appropriate. Link to comment

laurent_jaussi 0 Posted January 22, 2009 I like the drama of the veil...it looks light and grave in a kind of duality....on the texture side appart form the obvious veil texture that is well rendered, my funny spirit thinks of two things....a jellyfish or the mix of two liquids at the start of the mix where the mix is not complete....that's why this image is having me thinking about transition state...from light to shadow, from sight to blind, from nymph to butterfly.... pnital 36 Posted January 23, 2009 Michael, thanks for your impressions and Yishar Coach, I appreciate it. TM, thanks as well, I work with dance groups and theatre for some years now and developed my technics to work with stage light and rehearsals. So it is the experience and love for this genre of art that helps. Thanks for your feedback. Jose thanks as well Roger, it is a whole (developing) dance that will be done with the nets and veils, thanks foryour impression, I think that it will end up as a unique dance choreography, I photo fractions of seconds that I'm attached to. Tolo, thanks for your feedback, Laurent, each of the viewers will read it and understand it differently, what will be interesting is to see the full dance, which will take some more month of work till it will be crystallized. Linda, yes the veil is an important part of the dance, I "cut" a fractions of seconds from a full dance " sentences" that are touching me ,right now in rehearsals. Emma, and Maurizio, thanks both of you as well Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted January 23, 2009 Hello Pnina, A most original work, as many of yours are......I'm thinking this may have something to do with one of your dance sequinces......Mysterious at least......Jim Link to comment

bob_belanger 1 Posted January 23, 2009 That's a wild image. I like this (B&W) and the softness. Link to comment
pepmir 0 Posted January 24, 2009 It is a portrait, but a portrait in which the face is covered by that mask, it is as if the person behind the veil and masks. This greater focus on the veil makes it protagonist. A greeting. Link to comment
doug_gentry 0 Posted January 24, 2009 Very clever indeed! I enjoy letting my mind work through this one! Regards, Doug. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 25, 2009 That damned net has now become a harlequin's bonnet. Is there any end to your photographic imaginings? Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted January 25, 2009 This is great Pnina, filled with beautiful details, movement and emotion. The composition is only one that can be made by a master like you. One could ask: What the h... is going on? but it is not necessary, it catches the eye without any further explanation. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 25, 2009 Jim, thanks for your always nice feedback. Jorg and bob, I work on my B/W to have better results, thanks for liking the conversion. Pep, thanks , yes the veil is an important part in this one. Doug, thanks for stopping by and liking. Jack, "harlequin bonnet"....your imagination is not less than mine ...;-)) Anders , "it catches the eye without any further explanation." Thanks for that , and your kind words! Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted January 26, 2009 Pnina, this image has roused my curiosity like charades. What is she trying to convey?I An enigma wrapped in veil.I could not fathom the riddle:-) But I admire the composition, exposure and your choice of tone. Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted January 26, 2009 I love this and smiled when I first saw it not only for the texture of the veil, for its ambiguity. Looks like a mask under the veil, makes me wonder who has the upper-hand. Fun image which would enhance the walls of a gallery or a lucky person who had this in their home. A gem Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 27, 2009 Amal, it is a part of a dance "sentence", so it is what you see in it. The dance is talking, in general ,about boundaries, it is a dance in formation, but this is a concept which is in formation as well. There is a lot of improvisations and experiences, it changes and slowly gets a form, but I " cut" fractions of seconds that are touching me at the time. Enigmatic as well as other impressions I get out of the motion, movements and my feelings. Thanks for your impressions. Donna, the idea as I wrote in the previous comment is still in formation, and I'm interested to know how members are related to the different compositions.. I liked your impression of a mask under the veil, as the face and especially the eyes are covered, so it is like a double mystery... The veils have wonderful variety of forms on the dancers, and a lot of impressions, feelings, and thoughts for me, "cut" from the dance sentences. Thanks for your impressions and kind words.
