jkilgo 0 Posted January 22, 2009 This is nice, I really like his intent gaze...this image evokes a sense of wonder and imagination. I only wish that the background was even darker so that it would feel more as if he is alone in his imaginary world. Nicly captured. Link to comment
o.bilge 0 Posted January 22, 2009 A beautiful image..but too much dark and this darkness does not contribute to image of a playing child.. welldone.. congrats.. O.B Link to comment
rascal64 9 Posted January 22, 2009 Jeff and Ozgur...thank you for your time. 2 very different opinions...Darker? Lighter? I am so confused! (>8. Actually Jeff...I am with you. I thought about getting rid of all the telltale background giveaways and then decided to leave it. I actually was going to pull the image altogether but decided any feedback would be good. I was actually expecting a bunch of wordless 3's to be honest. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 24, 2009 I think this is a winner in terms of its feel. There's something intangible in the way his attention is focused, his foot juts out almost coming out of the frame toward me, the suggested movement of the train, the geometry of his body being tangent to the circle of tracks. You've gotten into a harmony of childhood here that is pensive, sweet, and, to me, more transcendent than most pictures of children. Its simplicity helps make it remarkable, the primary colors, the plain clothes, the bare foot. It feels real and natural despite the blackness which, for me, doesn't detract here (and often black backgrounds are not my thing). You are a very graceful photographer here. Link to comment
dandem 1 Posted January 25, 2009 Very cool shot, Tiff. The fascination and concentration from the kid is very apparent. Fantastic, my friend. Regards, Lawrence Link to comment
rascal64 9 Posted January 26, 2009 Thank you Lawrence. Your visits are always encouraging and inspiring.Fred...thank you...as always for your very articulate and thoughtful comments. I actually couldn't put a finger on why I liked this image with the exception of conveying a comfort in solitude. Your observations are precise and let me isolate the negative and positive aspects...good to grow on! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 3, 2009 Tiffany, it reminds me my grandchild pose....always concentrated in his play....It is a nice photo and well placed on the frame. Well lighted in the right places, sweet child. The BG helps to accentuate what he is doing and his being in his own world. Link to comment
