WJT 627 Posted January 22, 2009 This is great! I would report that 3/3 rating to PhotoNet's Abuse department. Regards. Link to comment
lovelife 0 Posted January 22, 2009 The forefront of this photo is AMAZING! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! so smooth, so saturated with color and contrast! It looks wonderful! the puff ball like snow capped rocks - spiky against the smooth glassen water- lovely texture- BUT! EL Cap is blown out on the right and the left, and it's color is quite dull, and pales in comparrison technically to the rest of your photo. The shear size is astounding in comparrison to the forefront, but Cap itself lacks in comparrison to color texture contrast. The forefront is great, by itself. Link to comment
vincenzo_corbo 0 Posted January 22, 2009 an awesome shot, incredible details and light. Link to comment
sketch_tbhotmail.com 11 Posted January 23, 2009 I'll second Mary's comment. The foreground light and composition are amazing, the colors are well saturated and I especially like the reflections of the snow covered rocks. Unfortunately El Cap itself is washed out a little. I like the shot but it could use a little work. Link to comment
naturegirl99 0 Posted January 23, 2009 I'll third that!! I would love this to just be a study of the foreground water (which is beautiful) and, in the background, the frozen trees. If only there had been no direct sun on El Capitan! Link to comment
chris_venhaus 49 Posted January 23, 2009 Thanks for the comments. I bracketed this shot, so I have plenty of expsoures to choose from. Unfortunately, I don't have the PS chops to use the merge to HDR properly. I simply used a shot that was exposed properly for the water, and used the grad tool in CS4 to darken the upper portion of the shot. If I ever print this, I'll do the exposure merge properly.
