thadley 15 Posted January 27, 2009 Emma, Ruud, Michael m,Tina, Liz: thanks for all of your very positive comments. As always, I try and get to see what is happening with your images if I have not already done so. This image was taken in Westmount, Quebec with the D70 mounted on my old manfrotto tripod (I have a new one). My old manfrotto tripod gave me very good years of service but after some leg damage when it was packed in my suitcase for airline travel and then part of the head broke when I was securing the camera to the tripod this past Fall. cherlyn 1 Posted January 27, 2009 The selective low light enhances the flower's delicateness & softness. Nice work. Link to comment

dougbraz 0 Posted January 27, 2009 Spot on with the light - it adds a new dimension to the image. Link to comment
sonneland 0 Posted January 27, 2009 Tony, the lighting here is to die for, not sure about the yellow boarder, it defines the image in one way but in another it is sort of bright and harsh and in contrast to the lovely soft lighting on the orchid. It also takes from the mystery of your wonderful composition. On saying this i realize i am knit picking here, i do that on the really great images and this my friend is one in that catagory. All the best....roger Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted January 28, 2009 The King of Flower images: thanks for your kind words and very generous rating. Just wondering if I should remove the yellow border or change it for a darker color. Link to comment
sonneland 0 Posted January 28, 2009 Tony, to me if you remove the boarder and take the image right to the edges it creates a mood and is easy on the eye, the yellow boarder makes it hard for me to concentrate on the image, take it away and see how much easier the image is to look at, your eyes get drawn into those wonderful shadows and that sensuous orange tongue, it is really a nice image..............roger Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted January 28, 2009 "sensuous orange tongue" h-m-m-m! Orchids have a sort of erotic form to them. Thanks for the advice - will amend when I get a chance. Link to comment
cphilpott 0 Posted January 29, 2009 Tony, I have not been out to your pics for too long. This is an intriguing shot, while clearly an orchid it has mammalian overtones to me that I find interesting. The natural light is really very solid and my only comment is, suspect there is a more tightly cropped image in here also. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted January 29, 2009 Craig: Thanks for stopping by and your insightful comment.Roger: I have removed the yellow border. Link to comment
