The Ledges - North Moat Mountain

harrylichtman

A north-west view toward the Pemi Wilderness from atop Moat Moat at the southern fringe of NH's White Mountains. One of my fvorite types of images. Though no dramtic colorful lighting of sunrise or sunset, this is an "everyman" type of image. Anyone could have witnessed the same by hiking that day, without an ungodly early morning or staying late on the mountain. I love all of the details that wind throughout the image.

While not a knock-out lighting shot like some of my recent Moab

images, still one of my favorites types of shots-lots of details, textures

and more subdued lighting that made capturing these aspects

possible. (Larger View Available). A recent back injury left me taking

less ambitious hikes this past fall. I had a chance to experience and

appreciate areas that I normally would have overlooked. Your

comments are welcomed.

I would consider this knock-out lighting, the overcast sky has helped to produce even lighting and saturated colours. Great composition with wonderful detail. I would definitely print and frame this.

Beautiful composition, and one helluva vista! Man, I just gotta get back there to New England for a fall color experience sometime soon. I am on a good monitor and wonder if maybe this isn't a skosh over-saturated? The blues are running to purple here; which maybe as it was? Anyway, beautifully seen, my friend; and keep 'em coming. Cheers! Chris

Thanks guys - Chris, the background mnts. my be a little too cyan/blue. On my monitor, the other colors look OK. I've had a bit of trouble keeping the far mnts. natural tones, as they seem to have a mind of their own. I may try de-sat. that portion of the image. You have confirmed my thoughts.
