mike_stemberg 40 Posted January 18, 2009 Yes indeed, quite exceptional!Joanna, I was scrolling and I found that when I hid most of the models skirt...this image became a lot more effective and powerful. A suggestion from me for a crop perhaps? best wishes ~ mike.P.S. Your entire Paintings catalogue/folder is exceptionally good too. Thank you for the inspiration! Link to comment
cameranda 0 Posted October 22, 2009 I think you have something there, Mike. This photograph is exceptionally well composed and in spite of its being a pose, is natural and, well, inviting to one to stay and look for a while. But just as for you, the original view I had of it, with the lower part of the picture hidden, was stunning in the impact. I am seeing now the art of the masters of painted portraiture of the past, with the background coloration and with the directness of her gaze following the viewer around the room. A portrait to stand the test of time. Link to comment
irishprairiegirl 0 Posted October 22, 2009 Gorgeous editing, lighting ,background, pose, dress, look, everything. Just perfect. Really stands out.The only thing is I keep looking at her arms and then back to her face.More skin smoothing on the face I think.Mabye you did that on purpose though. Link to comment

terry_pohl 0 Posted January 18, 2012 I am mystified by this photo, it produced such a response in me. I am really new to photography (shooting mostly nature) but I have painted for almost twenty. I am beginning to notice that photography is one of the easiest "art forms" to get good results from, but the hardest to set yourself apart in, or more specifically to personify your own style that other's recognize as a "Your name here - photo." in my opinion this was accomplished. I love the model, pose, lighting, post processing, simply everything. I first saw it in a magazine I browsed through at the store the other day and it lead me to here, writing this post. It is amazing because it's uncommonly rare for me to post anything, ever. I literally flipped through the pages of the magazine and stopped dead at this photo. I must have sat with it for an hour, then on and off again over the next couple days. I initially thought to replicate it, but quickly realized that would not move my photography forward. To me the photo is truly wondrous, it really makes me want to be a better phographer, a great portrait photographer. Link to comment
