In the original posting of this image, "Teaspoon Creek, late afternoon", I was not quite

satisfied with the sky. In this version I cropped out some of the sky and lightened up

the snow slightly. I'd appreciate any feedback from those who viewed the original post.

Thank you very much!

To me, the sky didn't make that much of a difference, this one looks very good as well with the sky cropped out. Another option could have been to use a gradient to darken the sky a bit. It really come down to your personal preference.

Thank you, Linh!

Tim, thanks for the input. I used Aperture to process this shot. I see you did the gradient in PS CS3. Is there a comparable adjustment in Aperture? I don't use photoshop, so I'm PS illiterate.

Dick... Excellent representation of Winter. I can look at this and feel the sharp cold. I find this empathy between the photographer and the viewer extremely important and you have done a good job putting us at the scene... Thanks... Mike

It is a very nice image with its composition and lovely winter colours, worth tuning the crop; I think the cropped sky helped the balanced composition

Dicky...this is sensational...so crisp and "clean". I can feel and smell the fresh aire. Fantastic image, my friend. Regards, Paiken. I wish PN would cut the crap and let me post the 7,s that this deserved.

Really a sublime composition, and an excellent exposure. I really love the foreground lead-in. Personally, I think the sky adds nothing to this; and may, in fact, detract. I really like Tim's suggestion of either completely cropping the bald sky, or addition of a strong gradient. Wonderfully seen and captured, Dick; stay warm! Cheers! Chris

I love the coppery and blue tones in this shot. So beautiful.I think you could lose the sky also. :) Great shot! Best regards, LEslie

Thank you very much, Lawrence, Chris, Sumon, Leslie, Paul and Monte! This creek is a couple of miles from my house. So, I hope to get some more opportunities for better sky...or, no sky at all.

Best regards,

Dick
