thadley 15 Posted January 11, 2009 This is a gorgeous image that has been superbly captured. I am glad you were able to find something in the foregroundthat perfectly compliments other colors in the image. Technically i can't think of a thing to improve the image. Well even though this is a beautiful image and would be proud to hang it on my wall, I fantasize about a beam of sunlight hitting the top of the moutain with a golden glow. I can always dream but i know the reality of landscape photography and the only times I get lucky is when I revisit the same location for months and then I get something special. It is very important for you to know that this is fabulous image and I would rate it 7/7. Thanks for stopping by one of my images. Link to comment
melloncollie 0 Posted January 12, 2009 thank you very much for this detailed, objective comment. it is exactly how you described it, i also tried it in the next morning but still no sunshine. Link to comment
pfranklin 0 Posted January 13, 2009 Well done! Rather than take a static shot of the mountain and reflection, which is majestic; you placed interest in the f/g and that makes this an amazing capture! Congrats Best regards, Pamela Link to comment

veezais_gr 0 Posted January 15, 2009 Perfect shot indeed - colours, compositon and the cloud above the mountain top as the icing on the cake! However, if I may also have a wish, I imagine a beam of sun lighting up the group of trees on the distant lake shore, with the mountain peak remaining in the shadow, would make it absolutely perfect for me. wogears 186 Posted January 21, 2009 Fascinating composition and color palette. Last trace of color in the leaves gives a melancholy mood. Link to comment

WJT 619 Posted January 21, 2009 Hi Zsolt. Interesting lighting on this. I'm not sure how much is from processing and how much is natural, but I like it just the same. The red clump of grass makes the shot for me. Regards. Link to comment
geu4king 2 Posted January 21, 2009 This is an Amazing Capture and there is no question, with the vibrant red lit grass in the foreground, you have greatly enhanced an already Stunning Image!!! All components that make a great composition are there and you have achieved this and then some!!! VERY WELL DONE!!! Link to comment
melloncollie 0 Posted January 21, 2009 thank you very much for all of your appreciations. Walter: your thoughts are interesting: but it is really hard to answer how much is this natural. after all, as i remember, it was something like this but i am not sure, maybe just a beautiful memory, that is why i remember it like this. on the other hand, if i would simply point the camera and take a picture, the whole sky were overburned but still no shadow details - that definitely wouldn't look natural. it was really tricky light, big differences of lighting. this is an HDR of 3 exposures, but even so, it was not easy (the highlights were still clipping a bit even in the -2 underexposed image). davidspeight 0 Posted January 21, 2009 Great image zsolt, i really like the vibrant orangey red colours against that brooding dark mountain. It kind of reminds me of a backdrop from the film 300. Regards, Dave. Link to comment
WJT 619 Posted January 22, 2009 Thank you, Zsolt, for sharing that information. I would not have thought that this was an HDR; you have a different look than most others would have achieved with this technique. Regards. Link to comment
copeg 0 Posted January 23, 2009 I really like the combination of subtle tones in parts of the image, and bright warm orange tones in the rest - together I think they make the other stand out that much more, and create a feeling to the image! The comp is very pleasing. My one nit might be the reflection (mid-mountain), there are a couple bright patches which aren't present in the mountain...almost look like rain drops on the lens. That aside, a wonderful image! Link to comment
melloncollie 0 Posted January 23, 2009 thanks! indeed that spot is from the gradual filter, a scratch or something like that, which usually didnt show up but against the light (sun) is quite visible. Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted February 12, 2009 How I missed this image, I don't know. Very nice, beautiful reflection and the foreground tuff of grass highlighting the whole image. Very nice composition. Bravo Zsolt. Cheers; Bela Link to comment
