Does the lack of separation on the shadow side bug anyone?

Not sure what you mean by "lack of separation". I think it's a lovely portrait, very good light, colors and posing.

Bryan, not at all. it allows a nice background flow and is isolating her skin. it is dramatic and very pleasing. without it, her being directly center might not work. regards, mmwhite.

No, however the hand arising from the bottom is a little strange in this composition. Sort of disembodied. You could have added some little separation in the bottom right and it would have helped mabe but it would not have made it that much stronger..... I fret more about the hand from nowhere special, reaching nowhere special. I hope this is clear as to my reaction today.... Is to me. Love her flirty glance and lovely skin and hair wild abandon , makes for a nice sensual model ,,,Matches the flaming background effect.. gs

Gerry, you're absolutely right about the hand. I have some verticals from the sequence where it's doing something more meaningful and doesn't look disjointed. But the expression here is the best. Oh well.
