Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 8, 2009 I like this very much - the color, the long shadows stretching behind and most especially the quality of the light. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 8, 2009 Just as Jack is famous for his bicycles and traffic cones, you shall go down in history as the best known traffic stripe artist of the late twentieth and early twenty first centuries. Those yellow paint stripes, again, serve you well in creating a grid upon which we all must conform. A nice line-up of people, several of whom are carrying their burdens with good-natured nonchalance. The pink lady with the enormous shoulder bag, and the first lady with the bag on the cart. But then there is the orange dress lady with the biggest burden and potential joy of all. They all line up on the lines with precision. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted January 9, 2009 Laurent, I agree entirely with David & Daily, about the excellence of your street-photography. Composition and light have raised a mundane scene to work of Art. Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted January 9, 2009 Jack, David, Daily and Amal... Jack...back light often gives something special, sometimes interestinl...particularly the light made me tke this one... David...you're much too kind, truth is I always liked crossing and trafic stripes...for graphical opportunities and also because people have to care about traffic more than about photographer... Daily...we all have sort of gimmic or tic that you like doing without explanation...this is certainly one of mine, I can hardly refrain from shooting when at an intersection or crossing.... thanks Amal...you know I like simple things and that's why I appreciate your images and the ones from the gents above... jeffl7 0 Posted January 10, 2009 This reminds me of the planets, each a distinct personality locked in the orbit of their lives. The stylish woman with her bag seems to light and carefree. The woman in orange seems heavier in step taking her whole life across the street with her. And that woman in pink, what a sight. Even in the dim light, she looks like a neon sign in motion.
