someoneelse 1 Posted January 6, 2009 I once did hear a story (and I know it is the truth) about swans, they always are commited to each other, for life.....they are a team/in love, and I hope you can see it in this picture.... but what I wanted to say to you is that some years ago a female did get ill, she was in an ambulance, the male did follow her to the hospital, flying above the ambulance...perhaps a crazy story... but life is redicilous ....comments are very welcome -Els (I BELIEVE IN LOVE) Link to comment
harlequin 0 Posted January 6, 2009 Less black space with the same off center crop would bring more attention to the story of the photo. Link to comment
cjtj50 0 Posted January 6, 2009 I like this image very much and what it represents (Love, which makes the world go round.). Have a very Happy, Healthy, and much Love/Loved New Year. Link to comment
GerrySiegel 868 Posted January 6, 2009 Strikes me as a nice pattern for a set of dishes. and that is truly Not Bad and Elegant in the least, however I can't see it as emblematic of the bond pairing of swans, who are one of many bond pairs in wildlife. Nonetheless, more of a frieze on a wall paper design as you have framed it rather than a slice of natura biologicall life. We can accept it without metaphor and your interprettion which perhaps is a little bit forcing the interpretation,so i feel today. So Someone Else, whoever you be, swans are swans even when they float in space. Another idea: Shade the background in lighter and lighter shades moving up to light gray at top..might work even better and add dimension and depth. i still like it, do not misunderstand. Let it stand without interpretation is best, doesn't necessarily oversell your personal vision, methinks. But it is your absolute right to do so I aver...I wish you well, truly gs Link to comment
jefvandenhoute 0 Posted January 6, 2009 Beautifull composition. I like the way you made them abstract from any surroundings Link to comment
schneekranich 0 Posted January 6, 2009 I am sure it is absolutely true what you said about swans (Reiner even declared as a rule: never take pictures of lonely swans ;-). Apart from the story it is a delightful picture, carefully composed and framed. Warm hugs to winterwonderland Zakopane! Link to comment

someoneelse 1 Posted January 7, 2009 I am very happy with your 'learning' 'beautifull' comments, thanks for taking the time, and I wish I had them like you did DP... I was even thinking about it when I did take this picture, this was the closest I did get with a heart... -with love Els Link to comment

GerrySiegel 868 Posted January 8, 2009 The symmetrcial swans in the stream or lake speak stronger to the pair bond. A good sample to emulate..gs Link to comment
GerrySiegel 868 Posted January 8, 2009 I am glad someone likes the heart shape. No arguments. A Hallmark card effect. And Hallmark cards have their effect...just a little bit much in the sugary part of nature. A Disney moment. I wasn't looking for metaphor so much as a wildlife moment of truth. Different approach to nature. Both valid, no doubt. I am a real neutral when it comes to the metaphorical meaning...so sorry if I offend...I wish you well, ye anonymous shooters- displayers Hot fudge sundaes have their place, with cherries on top...if in moderation. gs Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted January 10, 2009 I like the asymmetry and off-beat framing. It's a stronger and more interesting statement than a dead center one (although I like Daily's shot a lot). Link to comment
