Great shot of horse and rider. ESPECIALLY the expression on the riders face.

I hope you took hthis on pro quality film to blow it up.

The only sad part of the shot is the advertising in the background which I find a little distracting.

Why is the sign in focus? Looks like you are at f/11 or something. Try f/4 or f/5.6 at the max.

I'd have to give this an 'almost'. The 'thing' in the arena under the back hoof is REAL distracting. Next time try kneeling to get a different angle.

I agree the background is busy. The relative difference in plane between the subject and the background (at least the arena fence and signs) is not great enough to separate them signifigantly by focus. Similarly, the distance from the subject is far enough that kneeling would not have noticeably changed the angle of view. Position was dictated by me being on one the outside of the fence and the rider being near the fence on the opposite side of the arena. This is not meant as an excuse for the photo, but a response to your suggestions for solutions. Probably I should either: alter backgound in PS (as I have done with a couple others in the folder), or discard the photo.
