Very good Pnina. I like the composition you have chosen here. Such a scene can of course be shot centered on the window making the dragon the main logic of the composition, but your choice is clearly more thought through and highlights the title "One East 53" and the beauty of the frame. I love this type of "intelligent" photography. Very good start of the year.

What was happening inside this strange place ? Did you see St George ?

Thanks Daily, abstract with a form of a dragon, nicely expressed...;-))

Anders, thanks for your comment and feedback, it was a street shot, so I really don't know what was inside the house.... But it was a tempting scene to photograph.

"Did you see St George ? " No, what is this?

Bob, thanks.

Pnina, an Anglo Saxon should answer your question on St. Georges, but I'll try.

Saint Georges is a legionary saint , the most important saint of the Anglo Saxon history. The culte around him was born in Palestine and Egypt. and travelled together with the crusaders up through Europe. Saint Georges was born in Turkey (Cappadoce) and died around the year 300. The most important legend of St Georges is his fight against a dragon in Libya that terrorized the population and kept whole armies on distance. St Georges managed to pacify the dragon after having shown a crucifix and wounded the dragon with his spear. It is also said that the English king Richard Lions-heart saw the Saint and lead him to a miraculous victory.

St. Georges is the symbol of courage. He is the protector of armies and military virtues. Numerous songs of the troubadours sang his glory.

So, I'm sure you did not see him but only the dragon.

Very interesting capture, beautiful color. This dragon is very good in front of a camera.......professional talent, obviously! :)

Anders, thanks for the nice explanation, I did not see saint George... I sow the dragon...;-)) but I went with your explanation to Google and have found a lot of material about that period and saint G. Thanks for your help ,that helped me to learn something more. That what I like so much at PN, I learn a lot not only about photography but many other subjects as well.

Cherlyn and Tim, thanks both of you for your feedback.

You've been hanging around with them dragons and them legendary critters again, I see, Pnina. Luckily, he hasn't spotted you yet.

Pnina, the strong point in this image is the light. The central focus must be the dinosaur figure and I wonder if he would have been more effective in b&w since he is almost a silhouette already. The blue frame is quite attractive, ao perhaps even a selective monochrome of the entire glass window area. I think also that I would clone out the sign on the left edge as it may be a bit distracting. This has potential. Happy New Year if I haven't already wished it.

Very creative composition. The exposure isn't too dark to negate the dragon's color. Terrific use of the ambient lighting, and the blue framing of the shot works very well.

I always am inspired by your work. This is no exception.

Jack, Roger and Michael, for your feedback.

Jack, he did not spoted me yet... but I have spoted him...;-))

Roger, I liked it in color, but I have also a BW version that I will upload, the writing on the L side was not a distraction for me in the colored version , but distracted on the B/W....( even though it is not a problem to change it, and it is a good suggestion)

Michael, I'm glad you enjoy my work, thanks for all your warm comments.

I'm late to this party, but I made it. Really spiffy image here. Not to belabor the point, but I find myself with Roger on the cloning of the sign on the left. Of course it could be cropped, but I think cloning would be the better option. But you've already stated that you are not so inclined. Everything else seems to me superb. The blue is so rich, one wants to reach out and feel its velvety smoothness. The address beneath the creature is a great addition, and although the lighting seems to bother Roger a bit, I think it is great the way it performs the function of imitating real life. Those creature did, after all, get shoved aside and out of the spotlight of evolution. A perfect metaphor.

I have clonned the L side as you have suggested, but kept it blue as the frame was, I think you were right. Thanks, and if you see it I hope you will enjoy the change...

I really like this one. Actually, you have such a huge collection of terrific work that it is going to take me some time to go through it all! This one was one of the first that jumped out at me. That dragon is just priceless, the shot excellent and unique.
