Guest Guest Posted January 4, 2009 An agreeable sort of image that looks a little unfinished. The grid effect in the highlights doesn't go well with the soft, romantic quality of the picture, and the girl's face reads well and is quite beguiling, but the dog seems more of an afterthought. You have three main areas of dark tonality--girl's hair, sweater, dog's fur--that are merging and creating a single area that gives your picture unity, but interferes with readability. It would be interesting to think of a way to give them a little separation while still acting as a single mass--perhaps different hues in the highlights that give a duotone effect for each? I like the simple contours that define objects in the background and add depth. Link to comment
