johnroberts 0 Posted January 2, 2009 Superb winter landscape and I like the dark silhouette of the trees against the hills. The mist adds and extra element to the image. Regards John Link to comment

alpenglow 0 Posted January 3, 2009 Great use of the stream to move the eye to the focal point in the composition. A beautiful image in all respects. Mike Link to comment

lonebearimages 0 Posted January 4, 2009 This is one of the finest landscapes I've seen on PN in a long time! Ethereal and mystical, and some really amazing lighting conditions! I visited the Getty Center art museum, in Los Angeles, for the umpteenth time, the other day; and went through an excellent "plein air" landscape painting exhibition from the early 1800s. One of the artists, Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes encouraged other landscapists "...to include ruins, famous or anonymous, in their landscapes...in order to create a harmonious union between nature and architecture." You have succeeded on all levels with this photograph. This is a terrific "historical landscape." This has gone into "My Favorites." Happy New Year! Cheers! Chris Link to comment

brianclark 0 Posted January 9, 2009 Thanks for all your encouraging comments. I planned this composition on the previous evening and returned at dawn to find it covered in thick mist. It was then a case of waiting until it had just cleared enough to see the castle. Glad you liked the result. Regards, Brian Link to comment
