dougityb 0 Posted January 4, 2009 Thoughts? Suggestions? (Use your photographer's imagination to see past the logo) Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted January 4, 2009 OK, I can see past the logo but I'm not sure what it is that I'm meant to be looking at. Is this an ink blot test? Whatever it is, I'm not sure about devoting such a large part of the RHS to blur. Other than that, welcome back, Doug, and happy new year to you. Link to comment
bob_belanger 1 Posted January 4, 2009 As a macro I like the image. I'm sure about it as a landscape. Maybe that was an error? Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted January 4, 2009 Thanks Jeff. You're right about the rhs blur. It's excessive, but I'm not too bothered by it. You're also right about it being an ink blot test. Most of the other shots in the grape series are meant to be depictions gametes, zygotes and other aspects of procreation. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted January 4, 2009 Bob, now that you mention it, I guess you might be right....I didn't think of it as a macro, and opted for my next best guess at what it should be. Isn't there a definition as to what a macro is? Something about the image being 1:1, or greater than the original? In such a case, this wouldn't be a macro as the leaf depicted is about, I don't know, 2 or 3 inches wide. I suppose the opening to be about an inch long, maybe longer. Anyway, I've never been completely happy with the category options available on the critique request form. There are both too many options, and not enough. It'd be nice if there were a miscellaneous, or general category. Thanks for your comment. Link to comment
