whydangle 0 Posted January 2, 2009 Thanks if you have taken the time to look closer. This was taken in May of last year. I am a sucker for highly detailed landscapes, microscapes in a sense. This field of wheat was also occupied by various wild flowers. The diversity was my inspiration. The post-processing challenge was to eliminate the grad shadow and preserve the color and detail of the vegetation above the horizon. It was very still, a 30 second exposure and no motion blur. Thanks for any observations or impressions and a Happy New Year to you!! Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 2, 2009 I'm really amazed that you got this as crisp as you did with a 30-second exposure. Again, as is your modus operandi, you've taken what could have been an ordinary scene and made it photo-worthy. The pink tinge just brings the entire image to life. Nicely captured and processed, Mark. And a very Happy New Year to you and your family! Did I read somewhere that you have a new child about to arrive at your house? Sorry, if I've got that wrong. :-) Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted January 2, 2009 Hi Christal. Thanks for showing this image some love. I fully expected the lower ratings from the masses. You know, you can take an average photo of an over-photographed subject like Yosemite Valley or the Grand Tetons and never go wrong, but a well executed photo of grass and flowers just doesn't have the wow factor that most viewers need. Its not about the quality of image, its so often about the place. WHAT is more important than mere substance and vision. It doesn't deter me however. I am going to print this as big as I can and enjoy it. You are correct, though not soon. Next June we are expecting a boy. I decided to wait until I am 50 before carrying on the family name. I tend to take my time with the important things. Happy New Year Christal! Link to comment
rbanfield 0 Posted January 16, 2009 I understand what your saying about overshot photos of places. Kinda guilty of that myself, but not often. This is one fantastic shot and if they don't get it they just ain't looking at it right. You have the new wheat mixed with flowers and other vegitation. And the pastels of the sky you have ended up with one cool microscape. Thanks for sharing your view of the world with us. Agree with Christal, its a really sharp photograph for such a long exposure...RAY ps congrats on the upcoming event. Link to comment
