LenMarriott 9 Posted January 6, 2009 Gotta love the way the exposure was handled here; providing just a hint of detail in the person's silhouette and a bit in the hair while the water abounds with details. You offer no other explanation as to why your subject was placed dead center (normally an no-no) so I'm going to opt for another crop. Try a square crop from the right hand side and let the frame line fall just to the left of your subject. (still gives your subject room to 'move into'. If you are simply invoking artistic license I'd love to hear your reasoning. Looking forward to more in 2009, Best, LM. Link to comment

I chose this crop hoping to deliberately focus the message of isolation of individual in nature (our personal human survival instincts and environmental challenges). When I tried this differently, the image began to take on a more seascape feel rather than the documentary statement. Link to comment
