This image is quite facinating. The model's position conveys an attitude fairly clearly. I also like how there is almost a spotlight effect on the tattoo. This is a very sexy photograph.

Thanks for the comment! I wasn't sure about this one. That said, I like it for the reasons you mention. If one person likes my photos enough to leave a comment then I am happy.

There's nothing simple about this shot at all, to my way of thinking. Matter of fact, it actually looks like two separate shots to me, but maybe it's just fooling my eye. I like it.

Thanks Jim. Your comment is very interesting. I was aware that this did look like 2 shots. I can assure you it is only one. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.

Hi, David. Firstly, I'd like to thank you for your few comments on Carla's pictures recently - one of which I had missed somehow and only found today... Anyway, I generally find most of your work "sexually provocative" - and as you might know by now, that's not my favorite genre... But among other pictures of yours, I found this, which is quite a successful take in my opinion. 1) I have no doubt that this is a single shot with a mirror. 2) I love the "rounded back" pose that we see in the mirror. 3) I like the exact way the hands are placed. 4) I generally like the concept and composition very much, especialling with the belly's piercing ending up in the bottom left corner... This is all quite subtle erotism - which is what I like best, generally...

Perhaps four minor suggestions: 1) Darken mildly the brightest areas at extreme right.

2) Ideally, I supposed I would have loved to see a bit more of her hand and perhaps shoulder at the extreme right of this picture - but perhaps you'd then need a more panoramic format ration to achieve this without damaging your existing composition. 3) I can't really tell at this size, but there seem to be some sort of a bright flare spot or such in the hair - in the mirrored image...? I'm not sure but if that's the case, perhaps it could be darkened or cloned off or such... 4) Then an alternative: how if she would have turned her face to the mirror - then we would just see her lips in the mirror and her lower jaw at top right of the frame...?

Lastly, an observation: Imagine some truly wonderful jewelry at her wrist bottom right of the frame - where she has some jewels already... I think it would make a magnifiscent composition for a double page jewelry advert...

And by the way, that's the way I sometimes look at pictures, looking mostly at the picture's possible use and minor details in execution. And that's simply because I'm a commercial photographer and only half of an artist - at best. :-) Cheers.

Thanks for taking so much time to comment and critique this photograph. Knowing that many of my photographs fall into a genre that does not interest you, makes your comments all the more appreciated.

I can't really argue with your suggestions although not all of them were practical. This was an inpromptu opportunity and we had to go with what we had. The 'flare' you mention is a highlight in the model's hair. It never bothered me before but it does stick out like a sore thumb, doesn't it?

Thanks again!

Not really, no. But perhaps still worth touching up. It may be why someone thought it was a montage, by the way - I'm not sure...
