Not Here 93 Posted December 31, 2008 Dick... Wow, just a fabulous Winter scene; Currier & Ives, except real life... Love it... Mike Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted January 1, 2009 Thank you, Ali, Jean-Marc, Tim and Mike! The interesting thing about this image is that I took it last winter, right after I got my camera while I only had iPhoto to work with. I liked the image, so I went back and took another look at it in Aperture and made some adjustments that I've learned about how to deal with snow, which has been almost counter intuitive. Anyway, this is a railroad bridge over one of the rivers that flows through the Seney Wildlife Refuge about 25 miles west of where I live. It is a beautiful place in all of the seasons. A very Happy and Enjoyable New Year to all of you! Dick Link to comment
frogpondstudio 0 Posted January 1, 2009 Hi Dick,I like this one. I like bridges like this. I am not sure why. Maybe it makes me wonder where I would end up if I went across. The colors of the snow look right on and the comp is good. Happy New Year. cher.. Link to comment
blue-olympus 0 Posted January 1, 2009 Outstanding...well captured. Not only a great looking foreground but the line of trees also look very attractive and then there's the bridge!!....Regards and Happy New Year! Link to comment

ryourth 0 Posted January 2, 2009 You hit the jackpot this time Dick, absolutely wonderfull. Your treatment of the snow, especially the right river bank is really eye catching, the two pure white pices of floating ice enable the viwer to appreciate the tonal range of the snow.Of course the lightly snow clad dark evergreens & the dark bridge supple a great contrast to the pure whites of the snow..This would make a beautifull 11x 14 print.Best regards Regards-Ross Link to comment
