Clearing Storm - Elephant Canyon

harrylichtman

A passing Novemeber storm dropped snow on the drive into Canyonlands, but the park saw only rain. It was after about an hour and a half of hiking that the sun poked out and lit up the monuments across the valley-a spectacular site that lasted only a short time.

A November storm leaves some great lighting in its wake. I waited out

ever-changing lighting to get some interesting shots of Elephant

Canyon. Thanks for the view, comments.

Overall beautifully captured, Harry. I think I like it even more with a good chunk of the sky cropped out. Just MHO....

Cheers, Nancy

Breathtaking! That almost looks like a painting. I have to work in the Canyonlands next year. I hope to get some good shots like this!

Terrific image and I like it the way it is - I find the blue yellow combination is effective and I find there is enough cloud to make the sky interesting - IMHO. On my screen I get a sense of a slight cyan bias but i could be wrong! Best wishes for 2009.
