Canon 450D with the cheap 50mm F1.8 opened up to F5.6 and the background softened through Adobe Photoshop using layer transparency s to adjust the amount of blur.

everything works so well here, Julian. You've pulled all the right earthtone colors imo, down to the lip! Blue accents r terrific! Elbow triangle might need a bit more soft.

Julian - beautiful model, lovely smile, well presented. But I don't like the way you blurred the bg. It doesn't look even close to lens blur/bokeh and simulating this effect is quite difficult. Overall I like this image.
