fischerphotos 0 Posted December 27, 2008 This is an uncropped version of a buck we saw in the early morning fog. Would love to know what you think. Thanks. Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted December 28, 2008 I like the monochromatic color theme, although I've sharpened it just a tad.....see what you think. What I really love about this is how you've composed it. The angled branch is parallel to the buck's neck/breast, and the branches of the bush almost mimic the points on the antlers. Nicely done! donn_walgamuth 0 Posted December 29, 2008 Colton I think this is a great photo, I really like how the buck is walking into the picture and not in the center, I would love to see this guy in a year or two. Keep up the great work, Donn Link to comment
t37traveler 0 Posted December 29, 2008 Hi Colton- In the FWIW category, it almost works, but I think the buck is too small to pass for the main subject down there in the corner. (Pardon the pun there)...There needs to be more of him to carry the picture - meaning you needed to be closer or have a bigger telephoto lens, or reframe the deer in the picture. I don't feel that the little shrubs carry enough weight to balance the picture. I have a similar shot of a mule deer out in Point Lobos I'm uploading soon. Check my gallery. The deer is i the same location in the photo but faces directly into the camera and takes up more of the frame. I'm not crazy about the shot, but it's "OK." Link to comment
