Devine Intervention

This is a follow up to "1st Snow - Lonesome Lake. After waiting several hrs. for sunset, I had nearly lost hope for any spectaular light, as the area had clouded in on me. As if rewarded for enduring cold temps and lots of wind, a maroon/pink glow spread up Franconia Ridge like blood soaking through a shirt-not obvious at first, but then richer and deeper in color. Somehow light had managed to get through. The shadow upon the ridge was created by Kinsman Ridge behind me. An amazing couple of minutes, though it's difficult to relay that feeling in an image. While the clouds above did not light up as I had hoped, it was magical none-the-less.

Alpenglow breaks through the clouds over Lonesome Lake in NH's

White Mountains. I have considered cropping off the bottom grasses to

create a more pano format, interested in others thoughts on this.

Harry;

I tend to agree with you about the cropping idea, I put some paper up to the monitor at the top jetty under the rock and it gave it more of a panoramic view. I wouldn’t change anything else, the color and texture look fine to me.

Fantastic soft color and lighting, excellent contrast and dramatic sky enhance overall beauty of the image!!! I believe it would be slighly better eliminating the foreground. Still Very Well Done!

this is a pleasant scene. Yes, the crop would help. Also, the picture would benefit from less reflection in the water. A circular polarizer would help a lot. Cheers, Micheal

Hi Micheal- Since there was nothing exceptional going on in the water(rocks, grasses) I preferred the reflected light of the sky to seeing into the water. Thnks for your comments.
