Swan Taking Off

This is a Russian swan during its winter stay in the N. of Japan. Taken with a 300 mm

lens + a TC1.7x. Caught while taking off before clearing the trees on the back which

helped me to keep the whites well exposed.

I like the wing position but I'm not so sure if the background is distracting.

Rene'... I find the whole image delightful. The contrast between the swan and the background really made the image jump out at me, even in the thumbnail size. The background, in my opinion, is excellent and depicts a cloudy, winter day. Feather detail is superb, especially from the distance involved; and the drops of water falling from the swan are just dessert... Mike
