Did you soften this image in the digital darkroom? Such a nice crop, expression and tones. I think a bit more sharpness on the eyes would have been more effective, but beautiful none-the-less.

It shows all virtues of the childhood! Innocence, curiosity, tenderness, good mood...great!

Sherry - This was softened in post processing, I did selectively sharpen the eyes, but could only go so far due to noise in the original image. It really seems to come back if I sharpen too much. Any advice to avoid that would be appreciated.

 

Gilad - I agree about the eyes and wish I could get them sharper. This shot was taken in a classroom Christmas party, I was limited by the available light and the constant and fast movement by these pre-kindergartners. To compensate, I used a higher ISO which produced more noise than I would have liked. As mentioned above, this was about as sharp as I could get without revealing that noise.

I saw your comment on the previous post of this photograph and I thank you, I wanted to rework something on it, so I deleted the previous version. Unfortunately you beat me to it.

You nailed this Tim, her look is completely natural and the processing is top notch.
