triskelphotography 1 Posted December 17, 2008 Beautiful! I love the sense of movement here even though it is obviously very still. Nice Work! Link to comment
geu4king 2 Posted December 18, 2008 Vibrant color, Outstanding lighting and contrast... Beautiful Composition!!! A minor suggestion... The horizen line splits the picture in half... a small crop either lowering or bringing the horizen higher, would slightly imporve the Image, in my humble opinion. (This is a very subjective opinion... please feel free to email me to delete this if you wish) This is a Magnificent Landscape! Well Done! Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted December 18, 2008 I respectfully disagree with Glenn's suggestion about the horizon. I think moving it off center would destroy the symmetry that makes this image so appealing. The angle of the grass in the water and the direction of the cloud motion gives a zooming effect and the tree is framed beautifully by the clouds in the sky and in the reflection. Excellent! thadley 15 Posted December 18, 2008 A winner - the cloud on the right side and its reflection is an important element in this image for me. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted December 18, 2008 While I hear Glen's cautionary note; I also heard his recognition of your artistic interpretation. I think this composition is set up just right; and I'd have done it just so. The symmetry is what makes this fly for me. Wonderful work, Simon; and Happy Holidays to You and Yours! Cheers! dallalb 0 Posted December 18, 2008 Another masterpiece! I'm delighted by your art of seeing and photographing great landscapes. I agree that the composition is ok because you did not want to sacrify the wonderful cloud on the right and it gives a special touch and "movement" to this photo. Kind regards, Alberto. leo burkey 0 Posted December 18, 2008 Another beauty Simon and I think your composition is perfect. I think that sometimes rules are taken to be the gospel truths but in fact they are just guides lines. There are many great images that don't follow the "rules" explicitly.Well done Simon. alight 0 Posted December 18, 2008 this is beautiful. I wouldn't crop it. This way it has a balanced feel that would be lost when cropped. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment

iancoxleigh 0 Posted December 18, 2008 Very nice. I certainly like the symmetrical composition and can't find anything wrong with the centred horizon. I like how the clouds and their reflections surround the tree to the right and the reeds in the water anchor it on the left. The colours in the clouds are lovely too. I do find the blue a tad too electric where it is on the snow of the mountain peaks -- its is fine in the sky. I would selectively sponge that area in PS -- it seems almost bluer than the sky and it really catches me. My favourite element is all the receding lines -- the smaller tree behind the main one, the long line of the creek, the valleys in the distance and even the clouds seem to recede into the background. carlwakefield 0 Posted December 19, 2008 I like the reflection and the middle horizon works but the tree does not really fit in or add to the shot for me. Maybe just a little to far towards the middle. Link to comment
vandanabajikar 0 Posted December 19, 2008 The colors are amazing in this shot. especially blue sky and those clouds. Well composed shot with good depth and exposure. thanks, Vandana Link to comment
llgarcia 1 Posted December 19, 2008 So dramatic, pulls you in and keeps you there. Perfect for me. Link to comment
yannik_hay 1 Posted December 20, 2008 Superb! The white snow-capped ben and the huge clouds is balanced by the long pine. The reflections and the colours are amazing. I just love that lens! I recently acquired one and I am eager to put my hands at it :) Happy Holidays! Link to comment
