You 'd better watch it...

Long ago I made a feature trip through Australia and in Cobber Pedy

these guys warned me for all the deep holes in the ground where a

person could fall in to. They also were even more afraid of me

watching their activities because digging for opal is a business

that's full of distrust. To many stories are known of people stealing

other peoples opal and leaving town in a cloud of dust before it's

discovered. That way miners worked for years and did see their work

vanish in smoke after such events.
