Mark Keefer 4,728 Posted December 15, 2008 I caught this shot at lunch.. Canon 40D with 75-300mm zoomed all the way, no tripod, no IS. I really can't wait to get a Canon 100mm-400mm with IS. Looking for a good deal.:) I snuck up over the hill and got as close as I could without them noticing me. One doe sort of noticed me but wasn't sure and I froze. They started getting spooky but weren't really sure if I was there. This was really getting fun. I was two hundred yards down wind from this group and standing as still as I could, they were really trying to see me. It was all I could do to keep from laughing. I want to stake this field out in camo down in the tall grass with a mono pod to get closer shots. It's hunting with a Canon 40D, great sport. Thanks for looking. Comments welcome. Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted December 15, 2008 Yeah, the doe on the left had you pegged :-)... It's too bad the house is in the shot, but excellent detail for a hand held shot at that distance... good hunting! Mike Link to comment
pfranklin 0 Posted December 16, 2008 Looks like the "King" may have noticed you as well! This is a great shot for hand held. Good detail and pretty sharp! Warm regards, Pamela Link to comment
Mark Keefer 4,728 Posted January 5, 2009 Michael and Pamela, thanks. I just picked up a new lens, 100-400mm with IS and I have been up to this spot several times now to try again and have not seen them. I'll catch them one of these times and try and get the shot without the house. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Regards, Mark. Link to comment
