I wanted so badly to catch a sunrise shot here, it's about a 45 minute drive from my house so it was early and cold. The sun didn't cooperate, so I made due. There was quite a bit of ice for it being so early in the season, here's a view out onto the lake itself..........

Lovely capture Tim with a great viewpoint. Have never been fortunate yet to see ice this thin.Amazing, we have no ice at all on Lake Ontario around the Toronto area & we are further north than Lake Erie. Wonder if it is becuse Lake Erie is so shallow.Regards-Ross

Well, I for one can so appreciate this photo as you know. I love how great your DOF is and the sharpness of the discarded ice. The mood is perfect and tones are too. I cannot rate 7/7 but I will be back when I can rate 7/7a because it deserves no less in my eyes. A drive so worth it. Merry Christmas to you and yours. PS Into my faves it goes ;)

Great shot. I really like the contrast of the sharp edges and angles of the foreground ice, leading to the soft sky. Good composition
