gordonjb 10,860 Posted December 13, 2008 The neighbors seldom caught a glimpse of the beaver family living inapartment 1B. Each night after dusk, the family would slip out intothe streets in search of food and building supplies. In the morning theother tenants awoke to find a fresh supply of sticks at the doorstep. From behind closed doors the beavers could be heard nibbling away uponthe previous night's plunder. danbliss 0 Posted December 13, 2008 I like the humorous take on it. As far as the image goes, I like the sense of the incomplete story. Nicely done. Dan Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted December 15, 2008 Gord, you almost had me there. I've seen how beavers can operate, even here in the 'burbs. I like the shot. It makes me think. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted December 15, 2008 This latest threesome are all wonderful. I'll come back and comment on the others, but for now, I've had a good chuckle over a damn good photo. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted December 16, 2008 Dan; Thanks I walked by and had to return and compose a shot. This seemed too fun and too puzzling to pass by. Jack; I don't know about intelligent but it is a point of view :-) Liz; Wow! those urban beavers have made it out to the burbs already. Jeez! Next thing you know, they will start showing up out here in the country :-) Jeff; I'm glad you like these last ones and even happier if I gave you a chuckle with this silly scene. I know it had me grinning and scratching my head at the same time. Link to comment
cjtj50 0 Posted December 17, 2008 Is this part one? Can be a excellent story with many parts and images :). I love the story leading up to the shot not to mention the shot itself. Great in b/w. Take care Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted December 17, 2008 Thanks. You just never know what the future holds, I'll keep and eye out for any further signs of beaver activity. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 17, 2008 For me the beavers are in the water land.... thanks for finding them in the city,,,;-)) I love your explanation about the 1B appartement tenants...., You made me smile again..... Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted December 17, 2008 Pnina. As you of course know, I live out in the woods where beavers are common. In the city stumbling upon this strange sight of branches piled up at the door and stuffed in the mailbox, beavers seemed the most likely suspects :-) This scene made me laugh when I saw it and thought about beaver homes... glad it gave you a smile as well. t37traveler 0 Posted March 15, 2009 Gordon- Just found this shot - LOL!! I think they've stuffed a rack of antlers in one of the mailboxes. And the graffiti on the door - what is that?? If all this stuff is on the outside, what do you suppose is on the other side of the door? And do we want to even contemplate that? This photo is technically good (sharp, well exposed) and tells a story that has no end other than the one the viewer makes up. And.... it makes you smile. What more could you ask for? This pic is and does everything it needs to very well. Creative, original, full of mystery and humor! It's in my favorites album - (PS - thanks for the introductory explanation.) Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted March 15, 2009 Sandra; Thanks I found this on a walk in the big city. Living out in the woods myself, it was only a small leap to end up with beavers as a conclusion. ..... and yeah , sometimes it is best, not to know, what goes on behind closed doors :-) Link to comment
