I am interesting in your comments. I sort of liked the texture the intertwined dark tree

and rock. In any case, thank you for your time.

Unique composition combined with a exceptional contrast between the leaves and black stone. Pure beauty. Congratulations. Best wishes. Vicente.

Jose and Jana, thank you for your kind comments. Jana, it is a single shot. The 14mm does almost make it look like it was from two images. I was walking along and I looked over and was stunned by the scene. I did shift the colors slightly warmer. Reality was a little more yellow, but for some reason I liked this better. I think it seems more evocative, but maybe that's just me. Anyway, thank you again. Dan

Dan;

Your usual keen eye and attention to detail both in-camera and with your PP has turned a deceptively simple scene into a work of art. The myriad warm tones in the maple leaves all subtly different yet unified. I love the almost chameleon like way in which the tree merges with the smooth black rock, being set off from it more by texture than tone. The light really makes this image with the leaves almost glowing. The way the wide angle pulls me into the scene from the ground eye view of the foreground leaves up towards the stone and trunk is a masterful use of perspective.

This is a magical image you have created here Dan.

Hi Dan,

wow stunning contrasts and colours here. what an interesting composition. I wonder if you have any shots showing a closer view of the tree and rocks? I find myself wanting to study that part of the image in more detail. the dark colour of these materials against the red/orange hues of the leaves is facinating.

cheers,

ben

Gallego, Gordon, Katherine, J, and Ben, thank you all for your all too kind comments. As I mentioned before I was surprised and lucky when I wandered by this scene. Ben, I will have to go back and look to see if I have any tighter crops. I was focused on making this sort image while I was shooting, but I usually shoot a bunch of variants. Anyway, thank you again. Dan
