whydangle 0 Posted December 11, 2008 A careful blend of two exposures to bring out the detail in the foreground mangrove. Taken at Key Biscayne in South Florida. Please view the larger version. Thank you for any feedback! Link to comment
rbanfield 0 Posted December 11, 2008 Glad you were able to get some shooting in when you went to Florida. This is one beautiful capture Mark. And got to add a great job of blending on top of that. 6/6. Happy Holidays to you and your wonderful family and give my best to your father-in-law. Their still talking about his chicken wings at the Mirage!!!ray Link to comment
raybrizzi 0 Posted December 11, 2008 I'd never have guessed that was a blend. Adds a lot to what would be a pretty but plain sunset picture. Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted December 11, 2008 Thanks Ray and Ray. The blend is primarily for the setting sun and reflection of the same. In order to achieve the detail in the mangrove, I double processed an overexposure of the scene, pulling detail of the branch and pushing the remaining detail to the desired density. Then I farmed an underexposed image for the brightest area, that being the setting sun. I have found that blending scenes like this tend to be challenging because from one exposure to the next, the clouds will move. If I blend the two skies, the clouds will appear to have an out of register halo, which can be apparent. Link to comment

harrylichtman 0 Posted December 19, 2008 One of my fav, comps of yours. It's a little nontraditional landscape, and I like it! Your handling of all the ranges of brightness is near perfect, without going to far to open up shadow. I like the blacks of the branches. Wondreful shot all around. Have a great Holiday, Harry Link to comment
