"comments welcome from only those who do not think I am suave and debonaire"

quite an intoductory message ;-)))

Compositionwise it's a bit daring because unbalanced and yet it holds a certain kind of attraction just because of that. I think this is mainly because those berries look nice in this light. Still, because of the same conditions your background looks a little dull (and isn't exactly level which I find distracting). All in all it looks appealing but not overly so.

I have to confess that I clicked on the little finger pointy thingy and viewed larger and ... well.... it was larger, not a real lot larger but enough to be noticeable.

Hard to go wrong with red berries and snow + a mansion on the hill.

What type of drinks will you be serving?

Will you have any good Tequila ?

Ton, this was just an invitation, the image is pretty shaky. Gordon, if you bring your dogs I would make sure I had some Casa Noble on hand, only 76 proof so I know that your thick Canadian blood could handle it.

This appeals to me...the red berries in the foreground work great, the DOF and mansion give me the feeling that I am circling...looking for shelter, or a way in to the warmth.

Tim;

I am still digging my way out from under the 45 cm. of snow that has fallen this week but as soon as that's done the dogs and I will head out. I'm sure my two Pyrs. would love playing with your two Pyrs....... that would be a site to see.

Ton, I don't think they have Medoc in Milwaukee! Beer, brandy and tequila is as sophisticated as we get.

When you start using words like "veranda", you're in my territory (the South), and I speak your language (though I fancy myself as a "wine-oh"). Thanks for posting this and bringing some much needed humor into my day. Also, I like this shot. The contrasts are fascinating. I await further instructions.

since I'm too sensitive for brandy, tequila or anything likewise a beer sounds fine, sure you can get some Heineken there. Given the weather on the other hand you might try this one:

California Red Edmunds St. John's "rock and gravel" (2004). Something nice for the holidays.

Dog lover's all around it seems. Spoil Gordon if he comes. He needs it after so much snow shoveling. Nowadays we think it's heavy if we get 4 cm of snow here. Shame really, the dogs love it (2 black labs)
