cherlyn 1 Posted December 9, 2008 The 3rd in my series in presenting close-up of various artists' hands at work, He is an old man in his 70s, the oldest & the longest & the most experienced in this trade, we were told. He engraved names onto wooden seals. He works only under a flourenscent lamp. & was currently engraving my Chinese name. Each name will take him about 15-30 min to complete. The 1st letter (which is my surname) is already completed. I was standing behind him, with low light & no tripod with me, I have to make the most of my 'steady ' hands but its still a little blurry. We bring back the completed Seals with a pad of red ink. We admired him for his sharp eyesight, his great skills & his persistance in his trade. Link to comment
