Jack McRitchie 150 Posted December 9, 2008 Lovely. For me the picture is made by the thin border of light that picks out the man's arms and head that makes him look as if he has been chiselled into the scene. How you managed that trick on such an overcast day, I don't know. Link to comment
ahmetgurses 0 Posted December 9, 2008 ... very good light colors details and composition ... Link to comment
wieslawmamon 0 Posted December 9, 2008 Nice use of color and tonality, the brownish colors of the man's coat, the wall and the trees brings harmony and makes an impression of unity between the man's life and the surrounding nature and architecture. The broken lamp tries to spoil this state with a very little effect:). Welcome back Giuseppe, thank you for sharing, -wm Link to comment
mareval 1 Posted December 9, 2008 Brown and Grey! Nice light, composition, contrast and title. Human element works well here. Best Regards. Link to comment

giuseppe_pasquali 0 Posted December 10, 2008 for your positive comments. I have another photo of this man, taken from a different pov that will be posted in a few days. (it seems it's my fate to meet solitary men staring at the world behind them with hands in their old coats :-)) This one (I think) belongs to the "Solitude" folder. Thank you again, Giuseppe Link to comment

mark_q 0 Posted December 10, 2008 So, this is how it looks when a eminent B&W photographer treats the colors. This subtle color scheme fits well your theme and seems you were fortunate with the burst of sunrays creating that lovely aura on him. Kudos. Link to comment
giuseppe_pasquali 0 Posted December 11, 2008 I was lucky indeed. After quite a long stop (for me) I decided to go town with my camera, and as soon as I got out the car, my "usual" man in a coat was there. The gentle gods (goddesses) of photography decided to open up a bit that dark blanket covering Rome, and here we have the result under the mysterious form of a golden aura. I think I could have titled this one "Golden Age" and that - probably - could have been ok. thank you so much, Giuseppe Link to comment
maria75 0 Posted December 11, 2008 I like the mood and that details that make one photo difrerent. Not only the " broken lamp" took my attention, but also the slight difference of tonality: from open grey ( left corner) to dark grey( right corner). The presence of the source of light is very well suggested through that thin line on man's coat ( as someone noticed already). What can I say, excellent image! Congrats! Link to comment
